Visitation to the Bozeman area and Yellowstone National Park set records in September. Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport saw passenger traffic up 47.5% from the record level set in September 2019. Nationally, passenger traffic in September was down 23.7% from 2019 numbers. The airport has handled more passengers over the past 12 months, (1,699,646) than any previous 12-month period. The airport has continued to set month-over-month records for the past six consecutive months.
Tower operations and business jet landings are also up. Tower operations totaled 11, 928 an all-time record, and business jet landings over 12,500 pounds set a record of 582, 9.2% over September 2020, and 81.9% over September 2019.
