Dsnews.com - In April, the number of completed foreclosures was 66,000, down 15 percent compared to the same month a year ago when there were 78,000 completed foreclosures, according to CoreLogic. Month-over-month, the number of completed foreclosures remained unchanged.

The number of homes in foreclosure inventory as of April 2012 shrank slightly from 1.5 million homes a year ago to 1.4 million, which accounts for about 3.4 percent of all homes with a mortgage. The number stayed unchanged from the month before in March.

realtytimes.com - The latest existing-home sales report from the National Association of Realtors (NAR) showed promising figures for the month of April.

Sales rose by 3.4 percent, bringing the total amount of existing-home sales to 4.62 million. This is 10.0 healthy percentage points higher than April 2011.

DSnews.com - Zillow issued a released Friday reporting that both national home values and rents rose in the month of April.

According to the April Zillow Real Estate Market Reports, national home values rose 0.7 percent in April to a Zillow Home Value Index of $147,300. This is the largest monthly increase in home values since January 2006, and it makes April the second month in a row in which home values climbed up.
